More Minky Blankets Available

I just posted two new crinkle, ribbon, minky blankets at Lu Blu Designs.
The following pictures are of the newest blankets. Please check them out. Even though the flannel pattern is the same, the ribbon patterns and choices are different. I would love any feedback on these. Thanks.

Taggy-Like Blankets

I have made some taggy-like blankets. Other names you may have hear of for these blankets are: sensory blankets, ribbon blankets, crinkle blankets, etc.
These blankets allow babies to use their senses. The blankets have crinkle material inside for babies to enjoy rustling. On the outside, minky dot fabric allows for the baby to touch a soft texture and a colorful flannel panel on the other side for the baby to see.
Along the edges, ribbons stick out. The ribbons are a variety of colors, textures, and sizes to allow babies to experience different tactile sensations.
I have seen babies enjoy this simple, interesting toy. The squeals of joy are adorable to hear.

Baby Blessing Dress

I just graduated from college and I received a sewing machine as a present. I love it! I haven't been able to sew since I graduated from high school. So I undertook a large starting project: baby blessing dress. I made this dress in three days with the wonderful help from my mother-in-law. I didn't see any patterns that were exactly what I wanted, but she helped me modify one we found and I think the final dress was just what I wanted.

It is a white satin with a simple design. I placed ribbon at the hem and a bow at the waistline.

Ribbon at Hem
Bow at Waistline
The sleeves have a slight fullness to them to add femininity. I think the baby loved her blessing dress and she looks beautiful in it. Sorry about the quality of the pictures.

Reversible Car Seat Canopies: The Beginning

I love the covers that I have seen on many people's infant's car seats to keep their baby warm and protected from "germy" hands. I decided to make one for my daughter. It was so great to have the reversible component so I can change the cover to match my mood. Let's face it, the canopies are meant to show the mom's style!

I decided to make the covers as baby shower gifts. I kept getting compliments and being told I should try to sell them. So that is when Lu Blu Designs emerged. Below are pictures of car seat canopies I have constructed. Some are available at my Etsy shop. Feel free to stop on by.

Welcome to the blog of Lu Blu Designs. This blog shows what creations I have made as well as featuring other Etsy shops that I enjoy. Some of the items are available on Etsy for sale. Other items are just past projects. If you would like to purchase an item or request an item from me, please visit my Etsy shop. Thanks and enjoy the creations!

Also I love comments. Please let me know your opinion on things.
